Last year, South Korea hosted the seventh iteration of the (MSI) tournament, which Riot Games hosted in Busan, South Korea, the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI). Eleven of the twelve premier League of Legends leagues participated, and each league had a team representing them. It was the first event where a team could play remotely in a foremost international League of Legends tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
